@Julia Madsen, Those replacement batteries are fairly expensive and as you have found out, hard to find. Take the battery you have to a battery store, like batteries plus and have them open the case (tough to open but can be done) and replace the existing batteries. I believe they are just C size rechargeable batteries inside.

My Brill 380ASM has worked great for several years. Changed battery recently with NiMH cells, but now, it needs a new drive belt. Any info on where to buy replacement parts?

We have a Brill 380 ASM that worked yesterday until the battery went dead. I recharged and reinstalled the battery and the result is nothing. I read the manual and the two causes for no motor are overheating and a thrown circuit-breaker. Resting over night eliminates the “overheated” and the manual says the circuit-breaker will reset after 5 minutes. I ‘ve cleaned the metal connectors on the unit and on the battery (the battery is so hot it set fire to the steel wool ball when I tried to clean … I cleaned the point separately again) Where are certified repairmen? … we live in Storm Lake, IA USA.

I just purchased a used Brill 380 ASM. I would like to get my hands on a manual.

Couple of questions -
How long do I charge the battery? If I leave the charger on the battery too long will it damage the battery?
