Reel lawnmower summary:

Of all the available reel lawnmower models, I like the Scotts Classic reel lawnmower and the Brill reel lawnmower. The Scotts Classic is manufactured by the American Lawnmower Company, also known as Great States. The Scotts Classic is the biggest reel lawnmower that they manufacture, with a full 20 inch wide cut and an extra tall 3 inch maximum cutting height. Brill, a German company, makes several reel lawnmower models, including the small Luxus 33 reel lawnmower, the most popular Luxus 38 reel lawnmower, and the cordless electric ASM-380 reel lawnmower, which is very similar to the Luxus 38, except that a motor spins the blades.

What push type mower do you suggest for my St. Augustine grass in Florida? Thank you.

@Gail Bagley, There are several, the Fiskars Momentum reel mower, the Scotts Classic reel mower or the 18″ Mascot reel push mower. The Fiskars may be your best bet since it can cut as high as 4 inches. http://www.cleanairgardening.com/fiskars-momentum-reel-mower.html

I recently came upon a gw davis model push mower. It has a cast iron handle and cast iron blades and cast iron body. It is a beautiful piece but my problem is I cannot find out what year it was made or any other information on it. I am sure that it is an original between 1930 and 1950. Is there any way I can find out what model and year it is? If you can help it would be greatfully appreciated. Bill
